SPEAKER: DR ZAKIR NAIK

The programme aims at unveiling the truth, that is often camouflaged in the various religious scriptures of major world religions. Dr Zakir Naik, world renowned dynamic orator on Islam and Comparative Religion, proactively brings forth verses from different religious scriptures with verbatim quotes and references that speak of common terms and similarities in order to bridge the gap between Islam and other religions on vital common teachings.

Dr Zakir is popular worldwide for clarifying Islamic viewpoints and clearing misconceptions about Islam, using the Qur’an, authentic Hadith and other religious scriptures as a basis, in conjunction with reason, logic and scientific facts. He is popular for his critical analysis and convincing answers to challenging questions posed by audiences after his public talks.

Dr Zakir Naik also appears regularly on many international TV channels in over 200 countries worldwide.

He is renowned for his efforts in promoting unity, social justice, harmony and peace using the commonalities and binding strands that exist within all the major religious scriptures such as the Bible, the Hindu Vedas and the Glorious Qur’an.

The approach in this programme is based on the following verse of the Glorious Qur’an.

Say: "O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but God; that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than God." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to God's Will)”. [Surah Al-e-Imran 3:64]

SPEAKER: SHAIKH AHMED DEEDAT

Have you seen a Muslim observing a method of preaching that ironically had been conventionally the very tool of Western Christian Missionaries? If not, watch Shaikh Ahmed Deedat … the “Man with a Mission”

The Late Shaikh Ahmed Deedat, popularly known as the ‘Muslim Scholar of the Christian Bible’, is considered to be a pioneer in the field of public talks and debates on Islam and Comparative Religion. He took the Comparative Religion discourse into a new effective arena dimension, which involved a comparative and critical analysis of the Bible, along with the traditional method of Da’wah (propagation) that involved expounding on the Qur'an and Hadith.

Shaikh Deedat has had many debates with famous Christian Evangelists and Missionaries like Jimmy Swaggart, Anis Shorrosh, Pastor Stanley Sjöberg and many others.

Shaikh Deedat received the ‘King Faisal International Award’ for Service to Islam in 1986 in appreciation for his continuous and serious endeavours in propagating Islam internationally. Though Shaikh Deedat has passed away in August 2005, his ardent passion for Da’wah still motivates the minds of young Muslims and his legacy continues to inspire people of all ages.

SPEAKER: YUSUF ESTES

Out of his Infinite Love and Mercy, Allah sent to humanity Prophets, guiding them to that which is the best.

The Prophets clarified to humanity the purpose of creation i.e. worshipping God and obeying His commands, as well as clarifying that this life is a test for each individual, a test of which its results will decide the type of life one will lead after death.

The Qur'an mentions by names, Prophets, such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, David, Solomon, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon them, to name a few.

While we believe Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to be the final Messenger of Allah, the Islamic faith does not restrict us in any way from receiving inspiration and guidance from the examples of other Prophets and Messengers (pbut)

In fact, it is precisely for this reason the Qur’an narrates their stories for us so that we may constantly reflect and contemplate upon them.

Watch children learn with Yusuf Estes through his lucid and captivating narratives about the fascinating lives of the Prophets, their struggles and victories, as well as the lessons that can be learned from the time they spent with our previous generations.

SPEAKER: YASIR QADHI

Michael H Hart said that our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the secular and religious level and considered him to be the most influential single figure in human history.

Alphonse de LaMartaine considered him incomparable when he stated,

“If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, and astonishing results are the three criteria of a human genius, who could dare compare any great man in history with Muhammad?”

What characteristics made Muhammad (pbuh) the most successful and influential human being in the world? What qualities raised him to the highest pinnacle of character?

Dr Yasir Qadhi gives a comprehensive account of the biography of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

In this series Yasir Qadhi narrates, in an engaging and informative style, the life and times of our beloved Prophet (pbuh). What makes this series stand out above the rest is not just the lucid style and narrative skills of the speaker, but also its academic excellence. The speaker returns to the original sources of the Seerah, and discusses the authenticity of many significant reports. Additionally, he does not restrict himself to merely recounting these heart-warming stories regarding the struggles of the Prophet (pbuh) and early Muslims but also eulogizes on the numerous benefits and morals derived from them. This series covers both the Makkan as well as the Madinah era.

SPEAKER: SALEM AL AAMRY

Monotheism –Tawheed- i.e. belief in the oneness of Allah in His Lordship, His Names and Attributes and His worship, is a strong foundation of Islam, upon which the whole structure of Islam is based. All Prophets have called their people to Tawheed as Allah(swt) says in Surah An Nahl, 16:36

“And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) all false deities”

Monotheism is such an important part of Faith that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during the thirteen years of His preaching in Makkah focused mainly on Tawheed.

Therefore, the most important subject for a Muslim to comprehend is Allah’s monotheism and the full implications of that belief, as without that, no act of worship or good deed is accepted by Allah, nor rewarded in the hereafter.

Let’s join Shaikh Salem al Amry, to understand this important facet our religion from one the finest books written on this topic – ‘Kitab at Tawheed.’

The most fundamental relationship in the world is that of marriage, which also dictates what kind of societies we want to have. The Qur’an mentions marriage as ‘Meesaqun Ghaleezah’ - A Strong Covenant. Through this strong covenant of marriage we form strong families, they in turn make strong nations, strong nations make strong societies and in turn we will have a peaceful world, InshaAllah.

What are the necessary steps to be taken before you actually make that big decision of your life?

How do you get to know a person whom you want to get married to? Is it the way how one speaks, or the friends that one mixes with? Or is it the punctuality in offering the five daily prayers?

Watch Yassir Fazaga as he explains the keys to head-start a successful marital life.

Allah says in the Glorious Qur’an in Surah An Nisa, 4:31

“If you avoid the ‘Major sins’ which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your lesser sins and admit you to a noble entrance [into Paradise].”

In an authentic narration the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The five [daily] prayers, Friday to Friday, and Ramadhaan to Ramadhaan make atonement for what has happenned since the previous one when ‘Major sins’ have been avoided."

It is therefore very important to determine exactly what the greatest vices, technically called ‘The Major sins’(Al Kabaa'ir), are, in order that Muslims should avoid them.

Abdur Raheem Green will make clear what these heinous crimes are against the Lord of the worlds, in this series titled ‘Major Sins’.

The Qur’aan and Sunnah indicate that the jinn exist, and that there is a purpose for their existence in this life, which is to worship Allaah Alone, with no partner or associate. Allaah says in al-Dhaariyaat 51:56.

“And I (Allaah) created not the jinns and humans, except they should worship Me (Alone).”

Jinns and humans have some things in common, such as the possession of understanding and the choice between the way of good and the way of evil.

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has explained to us their nature and characteristics in his sunnah, and it becomes an obligation to believe in all of it.

To know and comprehend the statements of our prophet regarding these creations of Allah, we will embark with “ ”, in this series of episodes pertaining ‘The world of jinn’.

Speaker: Dr Jaafar Idris

The foundation of Islamic faith is to believe in Allah; His Angels; His Books; His Messengers; the Last Day; and Destiny. The faith of any person is incomplete without his belief in all of them, in the way and manner indicated in the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh). Whoever denies any of these six tenets places himself outside the boundaries of faith.

Although the vast majority of human beings believe in the existence of a Creator, the influence of wrong philosophies and ideologies that have crept into human minds persuade them to deny the existence of God.

Dr Jaafar Idris examines contemporary concepts such as Atheism, Agnosticism, and others to highlight the lack of scientific evidences in these dogmas. He also ponders over the signs of Allah in the universe, and helps us realize that, there is a reliable order, a predictability and stability (instead of randomness) of laws governing the workings of the universe; a universe of order; a cosmos and not a chaos, which clearly point to the existence and oneness of Almighty God.

Allah (swt) rhetorically asks those who deny His existence: “Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?” [Surah Al Toor 52:35]

The rampant of immodesty and indecency, through movies and music, has become such an embedded part of current modern civilization, that it has become the very name of entertainment, itself.

However, entertainment, in and of itself, is not forbidden for a Muslim

So, how can we, in these troubled times, have access to Halaal entertainment, at the same time, be away from the Haraam?

The students of Islamic International School have shown a way, where, they enthrall us with plays, poems, anasheed, beautiful recitations of the Qur’an, Hadith, Du’a etc. But, their objective is not to just entertain but simultaneously educate us about the Deen of Allah.

Therefore, whilst being fun, ’Whiz - Kids’ is also educating our Ummah, especially the children, being in the limits set by Allah and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).

Having the right mindset is one of the most important things that a Muslim should have.

It’s only when a Muslim has a mindset of hope in Allah (swt) that the person can go through any calamities that can befall him.

It is only when a Muslim has a mindset of repentance that the person can be guilty of his crimes and sins and then ask for forgiveness thereafter.

These important setups of the mind that a Muslim must have will be discussed and explained by Shaikh Abdul Bary Yahya in this series, ‘Mind setup of Muslims’.

Youth is the prime time of our lives. This is where people make important decisions like what to become in the future. Things you do in this time will most likely affect you throughout the rest of your life. That is why, it is important to bring Islam into your life during these days. Many people have the conception that when they get old then they will start practising Islam.

Because youth is the prime time of your life, that is why it is very precious to Allah. Allah has prepared a shade on the Day of Judgement for those people who used to worship Allah in their youth. And thus we have a mission in our youth, and Allah (swt) has blessed us with the energy and the time we have to complete this important mission.

So, the question we have to ask is that, ‘Are our youth interested in the wordly life or in the eternal life?’ Only then can we expect them to complete the mission assigned to them.

Join Areeb Islam to understand this unique mission and inculcate it into our youth, by the will of Allah, in this exquisite series of ‘Mission of the Youth’.
